Building Code approvals for hurricane shutters are in a constant change. When a product is called "approved", it underwent a set of testing procedures and complied with those requirements. The most common procedures are: ASTM E-330, E-1886 and E-1996. Along with that, we as a manufacturer have to have a quality assurance program in place that is inspected annually, by a third party.

In most of Florida and other states approval documents are required to pull permits for installing hurricane protection products.

As an example, the Barracuda Roll Shutter is approved for the following code and regulations. call us for more detail.
