Answers:

1.What colors can I choose from?

Standard Colors are white, cream, light beige, gray and brown. Many non standard colors are available upon request.

2.When do I need to use StormBars?

Stormbars are recommended when widths exceed 48" for RC40, 60" for RC55, 72" for RCE40 and 96" for RCE60.

3.How long does it take to get an order? What is your lead-time?

We try to make our schedule flexible enough to ship orders when the customers need them not when it is convenient for us. Shutter Express service also gives you a money back guarantee if we do not ship your order when you need it. Please consult the factory at time of order for up-to-date delivery schedules.

4.How many shutters can I operate with one switch?

A normal switch will only operate 2 shutters. An Individual Group Control System (IGC) can be installed to operate virtually an unlimited number of shutters with only one switch. The IGC system from Somfy can also be adapted to control one or more motors in groups and/or individually from one or more locations.

5.What slat profile should I use on this opening?

When choosing slat profiles one must consider many requirements. First one must be familiar with area building codes and use profiles that are tested to withstand certain wind conditions. See our windspeed chart section to determine the appropriate profile. If all profiles are certified for your area then you should consider what size housing is required. This may play part in your profile choice. See our housing sizes section for more information. Finally a customers color choice may not be available in all profiles. Please consult our facility for more information.

6.When should I use a Motor with Gear Override?

Motorized shutters with a gear override option are recommended and required for any opening that may be used as an emergency exit. If power is lost a motorized shutter with gear override can be manually opened for exiting the building. Some areas are also prone to frequent power outages. If this is the case we would recommend manual shutters when possible and motorized shutters with gear override.
